Join The Maine Outdoor Film Festival, presented by Baxter Brewing, for a two-hour program of outdoor adventure and conservation short films, shown outdoors, at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute for night three of of the first weekend of MOFF.

-Beer and Wine available for purchase with ID
-Outside water/snacks are allowed.
-No pets allowed, sorry.
-A pay-what-you-can STREAMING OPTION is available on the night of the in-person showing.
In case of Foul Weather:
-If a screening is postponed because of rain or inclement weather, it will take place the following Monday night at the same location of the originally scheduled screening.
–If two screenings are postponed, the second screening will take place Tuesday, etc.
-We’ll attempt to make any postponement call by 4pm on the day of the screening, and will email all ticket purchasers. We’ll also post on our home page, social media and the event screening page.
-Tickets purchased for the original screening will be honored at the makeup screening.
-Ticket purchasers will also have the option of transferring their ticket to another screening or transferring to a virtual ticket.

PHOENIX – 10 minutes – by Eric Braker, Andrew Braker – from Colorado – Short synopsis: Katie Fiedler Anderson has been a fly fishing guide in Vail, Colorado for over a decade, but things started to change when she became pregnant with her daughter. The short film, “Phoenix”, tells a story of passion, as Katie and her husband take a leap of faith in order to inspire their 4-year-old daughter to chase her dreams no matter what the obstacle.
SAVING GLACIERS – 8.5 minutes – by Ciril Jazbec – from Slovenia – Short synopsis: A scientist and his team on a mission to save the inevitable melting of glaciers in the Alps. Determined that the melting and eventual disappearance of the glaciers in the Alps can be averted, dr. Felix Keller, a Swiss glaciologist, and his team set out to develop a complex snow cabling system, recycling glacial meltwater into snow. Unlike others, their solution can be scaled up enough to save an entire Morteratsch glacier. Enthusiasm, resilience, and love for the Alps reflect in these locals’ efforts to save the winter for future generations.
COLDIRON AND THE CABINETS – 18 minutes – by Nathaniel Kenney – from Montana – Short synopsis: Gulf war veteran, Scott Coldiron, recovers from nerve gas poisoning and goes on to find community and world class ice climbing in Montana’s remote Cabinet Mountains.
YO GLEANS – 10.5 minutes – by Blake Horn – from Maine – Short synopsis: We follow a day in the life of Yosarian Bisbee, aka Yo, as he gathers “junk” from the local dump and unwanted food from the grocery store, all in an effort to minimize waste.
INTERMISSION
WE ARE LIKE WAVES – 12 minutes – by Jordyn Romero – from New Mexico – Short synopsis: We Are Like Waves is an intimate look into how surfing changes Sanu’s life, documenting the struggles and breakthroughs of becoming one of the first female Sri Lankan surfers.
A WATERSHED MOMENT – 41.25 minutes – by Tate Yoder – from Maine – Short synopsis: A Watershed Moment tells the story of an all-hands effort involving fishermen, three coastal Maine communities, non-profit organizations, and state and federal management agencies to restore fish passage throughout the entire Bagaduce River Watershed in Maine. These grassroots efforts to bring back alewife, a keystone species that has allowed fishing communities to thrive have been remarkably successful. An unlikely group of partners, the story of this partnership is rooted in collaboration and can act as a beacon of hope for other communities and watersheds involved in fish passage restoration and community-driven science and stewardship. A Watershed Moment is a story about people, fish, and the water that connects them.
