BLAZING TRAIL – 9 minutes – by SouthBound Collective – from Queensland – Short synopsis: Caine Warburton is an Australian firefighter and accomplished, sponsored trail runner. This story follows Caine through The Scenic Rim, as the worlds of a sponsored athlete and professional firefighter collide.
THE LIGHT OF LUBEC – 3.2 minutes – by Roger McCord – from Cumberland, Maine – Short synopsis: A pictorial essay on a landmark known as “America’s first light”: the West Quoddy Head lighthouse in Lubec, Maine.
DIRTBAGS – 5.18 minutes – by E.C. Brego – from Maine – Short synopsis: Through her company, Oterra Designs, Erin O’Toole designs and manufactures handmade, one-of-a-kind chalk bags that are tough enough to withstand winter climbing in her home state of Maine.

THE SEA FARMERS – 9.13 minutes – by Nathan Golon & Emilie Silvestri, GoodFight Media – from Portland, Maine – Short synopsis: All Amanda did was give Emily one floating line of rope in the ocean, but that action sparked a livelihood. Amanda’s small gesture of kindness allowed Emily to imagine a life on the water she hadn’t considered before: as an oyster farmer.
RUNNING THROUGH BARRIERS – 6 minutes – by Julia Ngeow – from Australia – Short synopsis: A documentary short that features the Vermont-based ultra-runner, author, and social-justice advocate, Mirna Valerio, which explores the interrelation between environmentalism and racial justice.
UNDERSTORY – A JOURNEY INTO THE TONGASS – 40 minutes – by Colin Arisman – from VT – Short synopsis: Three women set sail on a 350 mile expedition through Alaska’s massive Tongass National Forest, exploring how clearcut logging in this coastal rainforest could affect wildlife, local communities and our planet’s climate.
