Synopsis:

High octane athlete Rob Pizem lives by a code of ethics that ensures his time is spent wisely and his goals obtained. This includes raising a family, maintaining his status as a professional athlete, and mentoring his at risk high school students.

Thoughts from the filmmaker:

1. Director Lane Mathis met Rob Pizem after being invited to Zion National Park to learn how to establish first ascents. After a long car ride and it was revealed that Rob was more than just an athlete and Lane seized the opportunity to tell a story.
2. The day that principal photography was set to begin the director of photography contracted the flu and had to drop the project. This left director Lane Mathis with little choice but to fulfill every production role.
3. Pendulum was a student project and the directors first documentary.
